The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF) premiered a screening of Nia Vardalos’ I Hate Valentine’s Day directorial debut on Saturday, June 27.

Vardalos was involved in writing in the screenplay of the film and also stars in the picture with her My Big Fat Greek Wedding co-star John Corbett.

When responding to question concerning the LAGFF, Vardalos’ expressed that, “We are honoured that the festival has chosen us as their world premiere event for this year.

“The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival is becoming one of the pre-eminent showcases for filmmakers of Greek descent worldwide, and we are thrilled to be included as part of their line-up.”

In her latest endeavour, Vardalos stars as Genevieve who is a romantic and carefree florist who tends to keep her relationships short.

Her theory on falling in love involves minimising her unions with a “five date” rule.
