An archaeological museum located on the Greek island of Santorini has solved its mystery surrounding a list of missing antiquities, with the arrest of one of its night watchmen.

According to police, the employee arrested on Saturday had been stealing precious antiquities from the museum’s storage room.

Authorities located the missing items at his home. Among the items were 15 clay pots dating back to the 17th century BCE, three figurines – two stone and one clay, and a “quartz crystal object” that dates to around the 8th century BCE.

The artefacts have since been returned to the museum.
