Right across one of the most famous beaches in Chalkidiki, Northern Greece is Diaporos islet, a tiny little paradise known to locals.

Visitors can access the island by boat from Vourvourous beach, if they are seeking a more quiet location to relax and enjoy the regions crystal clear waters.

Unless one has access to a boat, the island is inaccessible. Some local fishermen, however, have seen an opportunity recently and often agree to transport swimmers to and from Diaporos.

Diaporos, apart from being loved for its soft pink-white sandy beaches and abundant vegetation is also known for the temperature of its waters.

Its location makes swimming ideal even during winter as it is not at all affected by the wind; the sheltered islet has warm waters all year round as the mountain range across the long beach of Vourvourous blocks currents.
