Greek league champion club, AEK Athens has signed a new coach.

On Friday the club announced Marinos Ouzounidis would be coming on board as part of a two-year deal.

A former player and manager at Panathinaikos, the 49-year-old has also coached clubs Panionios and Xanthi.

Ouzounidis is replacing Spanish coach, Manolo Jimenez. Despite a promising run with the club, leading AEK to win its first league title in 24 years, according to reports the 54-year-old’s departure is due to failed contract renewal negotiations.

Jimenez is expected to head Canary Islands club, Las Palmas.
