The Routes in Marpissa Festival is a three-day annual event that takes place at the Marpissa settlement on the island of Paros. Now in its ninth consecutive year, it will be  held on 24 – 26 August, giving locals and visitors the opportunity to bid farewell to the summer in a memorable way.

This year, the festival will revolve around salt and how it is present in every aspect of our daily lives; we are constantly surrounded by salt; it exists in water, in the earth, and even in our bodies. The Marpissa festival will be a celebration of this, with festivities spreading around various locations.

The Routes in Marpissa Festival is being held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Sport and Culture and is mainly coordinated by volunteers thanks to sponsorships. It has received high praise, being a part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and a Member of the European Platform EFFE 2017-2018.

Entry will be free to all of the festival’s events, including art showings, concerts and lectures, each of them dedicated to this year’s theme. So, if your travels bring you by the island of Paros somewhere near the end of August, stop by and participate in this year’s festivities.
