The junior Greek national water polo team defeated Spain last night scoring a 9:8 in the final of the 2018 FINA World Youth Championship held in Hungary, claiming a historic win.

Greece’s young dolphins continued on a wining streak throughout the competition without losing one match, placing themselves at the top of their category, amongst the top four water polo teams in the world.

Greece nailed the first period with a determining 3:1 lead; even though Spain managed to level the game, Greece rose even higher in the second period scoring a 7:4 advantage.

By the third part and a 9:7 with Efstathios Kalogeropoulos as the top Greek scorer it was clear which side dominated the game, even though Greece cruised through the fourth period without any goals.
