If recent numbers are anything to go by, Greece’s economy seems to be taking a albeit small turn for the better.

The establishment and opening of businesses far exceeded the rate of closures in the country in the first nine months of 2018, with 24,586 new registrations submitted in comparison to the 12,943 businesses that closed down, reports naftemporiki.gr

The numbers indicate an improvement when compared to the same period in 2017, during which 23,553 new entities were registered and 20,826 closed down.

However self-employment rates overall seem to be dropping at somewhat of an alarming rate, with a decline of 38 per cent from last year.
