A fight between four intoxicated migrants residing at the Thiva camp in Greece broke out in the early morning hours of Wednesday (Greek time).

The brawl turned violent quickly and resulted in one migrant woman being attacked.

The four individuals who had consumed large amounts of alcohol attempted to burn the woman alive.

The woman, whose identity is not known has suffered severe burns on her body and is being hospitalised.

During the fight, four migrants suffered stab woulds as other inhabitants of the camp tried to interfere.

The perpetrators have also caused serious damages to the camp premises during their drunk rampage.

There has been no official report as to why the woman was targeted by the men and up to this point they have refused to speak to the police.

Sexual harassment and cases of rape are not uncommon in Greece’s migrant camps, with many women being on the receiving end of violent acts when they refuse advances, according to Medecins Sans Frontieres.
