It took a major cooperation from the police in Greece, Ecuador and the United States in order to lift the veil around a well-organised cocaine-trafficking ring.

The police in the Latin American nation located and confiscated near 300 kgs of cocaine on a yacht that was headed for Australia.

From there the drugs were to be brought to Greece and spread out to the rest of Europe. Six arrests were made in Ecuador in relation to this crime.

Meanwhile, in Greece the authorities moved on to arrest another three people (two Greeks and one Albanian) who seemed to be behind the entire scheme.

One of them seems to be a cafeteria owner and another is the head of a car dealership.

The total net worth of the drugs found exceeds 1.5 million euros. The Greek authorities have reportedly been in close cooperation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in this case.

No further information has been made public at this time, however more arrests in regards to the cocaine-trafficking ring are expected to follow in Greece.
