AHEPA have announced their new initiative with the formation of their Achilleas Youth chapter in Melbourne.
The group consists of 20 foundation members aged between 18 to 23 years, who have shown very keen interest in the ideals of AHEPA and its main objectives of promoting Hellenism and philanthropy.
This important initiative has come to fruition through the great effort of the foundation President Jiannis Tsaousis. Mr Tsaousis will be assisted by very capable young men and women – Josh Carfi, Vice President, Elena Halkas, Secretary, Nick Neilsen, Treasurer, John Papaemmanouil, Anthony Papadimitriou and others who show great dedication to their Hellenic heritage and enthusiastic professionalism in their work.
Achilleas Youth has already established a Facebook page Achilleas Youth AHEPA and hope that many more young people from the tertiary level join the group.
“We welcome the Achilleas Youth to AHEPA and hope that they will initiate a much needed generational change in our organisation,” says Elias Doufas, National President AHEPA Australasia.
“All large organisations are in the boat of having been led by the first generation members of our community who have now aged and there is a big need for the following generation of Greek youth to take the reins and continue the important work of promoting and propagating our Hellenic heritage.
” AHEPA welcomes the change and looks forward to a long and stable future as the largest Hellenic Organisation in the world,” Mr Doufas said.
