Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has announced that he will open a tennis centre in Greece by April 2019.

The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre will be located at the 5-star Sani Resort in Halkidiki, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece.

“I am very happy that we officially announced the birth of a new Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Greece”, Nadal said. “It strengthens the expansion project of the academy over the world…I am grateful to Sani Resort for the trust that they have had in my team to deliver the new Centre and I am sure that we are going to have a very fruitful and productive working relationship, especially for all of the tennis lovers out there.”

The centre will comprise eight clay courts on which tennis courses will be available to players of all ages and standards. The goal is to provide high-quality tennis coaching so that guests and residents of the area can play and take classes as part of a tailored programme that is customised to the different player profiles. These programmes have been developed through an exclusive training system, based on the successful experience acquired by the Rafa Nadal Academy.

The Spanish tennis player, who is currently ranking no. 2 in the world, also has other tennis centres named after him around the world, including in Mallorca, Spain, Cancun and Mexico. CEO of Sani Resort, Andreas Andreadis stated that they are excited to host a new venue of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre.

“What could be better than developing the tennis abilities with Rafa Nadal’s help? This year we invite you to enjoy a new experience in Sani while relaxing and resting on holidays in the resort,”  Mr Andreadis said.
