Greek tennis gun Stefanos Tsitsipas stunned everyone on Sunday night when he beat his childhood idol Roger Federer in four sets at the Australian Open.

The world has taken an interest in him and his future as a tennis player, but who is Tsitsipas when he’s not competing?

The young prodigy has a knuckle for vlogging, aka filming his own video blogs documenting his experiences in different countries and cities during his travels.

Tsitsipas first got into vlogging during the US Open back in 2017, and since then he has uploaded over 30 vlogs, garnered more 14,000 subscribers with most videos getting over 10,000 views.

Other than keeping a video diary and sharing his experiences with his fans, the 20-year-old uses his hobby to remain motivated while touring.

“Tennis is always going to be there. The travelling is always going to be there. So why not have a hobby and travel with it, and feel happy with it?” he told the New York Times in a recent interview.

“Making videos is like a Plan B for me. If things don’t go well from the beginning of the tournament, I might film or make a video in the city. But if I keep winning, I’m trying to forget it as much as possible.”

What’s most impressive about his vlogs is that he curates everything himself from writing and directing to editing and staring using all sorts of equipment, including cameras, lenses and even drones.

Here’s a recent example from his stint in Perth:

Vlogging, however, is not the only way the talented tennis player uses to creatively express himself. He also has an Instagram account where he explores his passion for photography under the username ‘Steve the Hawk’.
