Nigerian immigrants in Athens have a really tough time surviving, and Giannis Antetokounmpo was no exception. He wasn’t provided with any opportunities, and didn’t even have citizenship – and was earning $200 a month. He blitzkrieged from the Athens jungle to the the NBA and didn’t even want to leave Greece without his family.

A 20-minute documentary shows how the longtime Milwaukee Bucks fan rose from being a hometown hero to “The Greek Freak”. Now, the great player has been featured in commercials for Nike, Aegean Airlines and others.

Antetonkoumpo has never forgotten Greece and talks about the country with love, nostalgia and fondness.
