The Victorian Police Force is embracing Cultural Diversity in a bigger way than ever before. Victoria has historically been hailed as the leading Multicultural State and has enshrined this through  legislation and the community advocacy work of the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria.

In the wake of Cultural Diversity Week, the ECCV Chairperson Cr Kris Pavlidis attended the headquarters of Victoria Police for the launch of the African Police employee Network.

An established Victorian institution, Victoria Police works in close collaboration with ECCV Chairperson and community leaders from our Multicultural community.

The Hellenic Police Association has a growing  membership and is led by Inspector Andrew Markakis and Senior Sargent Efti.  “Multiculturalism is one of Victorias most important assets that continues to enrich our lives and grow our economy. It is more important than ever before that we work together in an inclusive and respectful manner toward a socially cohesive and harmonious society” says Cr Kris Pavlidis.

The message of strength in diversity is echoed by Inspector Markakis and Commander Bateson.
