Oscar-nominated Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos was selected to be a member of the jury at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in May.

Organisers announced on Monday that the Greek director would be on the jury along with US actress Elle Fanning and Italian director Alice Rohrwacher.

The three will also be joined by actress and director Maimouna N’Diaye, US director Kelly Reichardt, French director Enki Bilal, French screenwriter Robin Campillo, and director Pawel Pawlikowski from Poland.

Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will head the jury.

As every year, the jury is invited to see films directed by the greatest filmmakers of our time.

The 72nd Cannes Film Festival is set to run from 14 May through to 25 May.
