Melbourne-based businessman George Passas had an alternative, and philanthropic, idea for thanking clients and friends for their support.

Celebrating the upcoming milestone of 10,000 followers on Instagram for his construction company – currently standing at over 9,800 – Mr Passas decided to run the ‘$10k for 10k’ campaign, aiming to raise $10,000 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

“Supporting children who are battling cancer is something that we feel strongly about, and we hope that our donations will bring researchers closer to creating gentler treatments for children fighting this disease and one day even a cure,” the organiser explains.

The end date for the fundraiser is Sunday 30 June, and response thus far has been overwhelming with more than $7,000 donated to date.

In a bid to raise awareness and help research efforts on childhood cancer, Mr Passas encourages professionals in his industry, members of the Greek community and the broader public to contribute to the initiative.
