The Hellenic RSL Branch was founded in the ’70s and promotes the contribution of the Hellenes as part of the Australian Military forces in WW1, WW2 and the Vietnam War.

The Greek branch, celebrating almost 50 years since its founding date honoured the women and specifically the mothers of veterans in a special gathering last Sunday 5 May.

A large number of members and friends attended the event to enjoy this special day of the year and make the most important ladies in their lives happy.

The oldest mother at the Hellenic RSL function was Mrs Evangelia Polidoropoulos aged 85, and the youngest mother present was Mrs Hariklia Kouskouris, 49.

“Many talks and poems were read on the day, and I have to say it was at times emotional,” said President Mr Steve Kyritsis.
“We wish all Mothers happiness and good health.”
