The Greek Australian Cultural League (GACL) is hosting a bilingual poetry afternoon this weekend in Melbourne.

Taking place at Step Gallery in Carlton, the event’s theme is ‘Mining Experiences, Excavating Words’.

Some of the local Greek Australian community’s most well-known and talented poets will come together to recite their work, whether it be in Greek or English.

At the event, two new chapbooks will be launched, written by Dorothy Poulopoulou and Petr Malapanis, and published by Owl Publishing.

Meanwhile, attendees will also have the chance to peruse the art work on display at Steps Gallery as part of the GACL’s annual Antipodean Palette art exhibition.

Free to attend, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
