This week Neos Kosmos took part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

An initiative of the Cancer Council, it is a chance to get people together and raise funds that will help fund life-saving research, prevention, support programs, and information.

The official day of the nation-wide fundraising event is 23 May.

Neos Kosmos signed up to take part and hosted a small morning tea at our Head Office in Hawthorn with in-house staff.

Hosted by journalists Zoe Thomaidou and Anastasia Tsirtsakis, staff set out baking pites and cakes, while some of the publication’s generous advertisers, including Olympian Speciality Products and Emporio Coffee donated goods for the event.

To begin the morning tea, journalist Maria Kampyli gave a touching speech about her own experience with cancer. She gave a first-hand account of the support individuals like herself receive from the Cancer Council, and the benefits of fundraisers such as Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
