Tarpon Springs came third for culture in the USA 2019 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards, following another award recently for being the Best Historic Town in America.

The town with the large Greek community is known for its sponge divers, fresh baked baklava and Epiphany Day celebrations. And the cultural heritage of the town was recognised when it was voted No 3 on the list of towns with populations less than 30,000 people.

“Visit the small town of Tarpon Springs, and you might feel like you’ve been transported to the shores of the Greek Islands. The city’s Tarpon Arts Program features four cultural venues, the Cultural Center, Performing Arts Center, Safford House and Heritage Museum. Other cultural attractions include the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Historic Train Depot Museum and the Sponge Docks Fishing Village,” states the report.
