It was a mediocre weekend without many thrills for fans of Greek clubs taking part in the National Premier Leagues (NPL) outside the state of Victoria.

In New South Wales, it seems Sydney Olympic are determined to lose the title they worked so hard to get last season.

Abbas Saad’s men dropped yet another two points at Lily Homes against Blacktown, being held to a 1-1 draw.

The game between the Adelaide Raiders and Adelaide Olympic ended in a similar fashion with the same result and it was thanks to a Pounenidis goal during injury time that the visitors were able to walk away with any points at all.

The latter Greek team of South Australia, West Adelaide, was also able to claim a point, holding on to a goalless draw against Adelaide City.

Meanwhile, both Floreat Athina and the Olympia Warriors dominated their opponents in Western Australia and Tasmania as they claimed 0-6 victories against Perth Glory (U21) and Clarence United respectively.

The only Hellenic club to feel the bitter taste of defeat last weekend was Canberra United, who were subjected to a heavy 4-1 loss at the hands of Cooma and dropped to second place in the Capital Territory.
