Fronditha Care celebrated 35 years of contribution to the community at Stars International last Sunday.
The tireless effort of the community, past presidents, staff and volunteers was highlighted as contributing to the success of the service Fronditha Care provides to the elderly.

Mike Zafiropoulos, president of Fronditha Care, said the relationship between Fronditha Care and the Greek community of Melbourne, Newcastle and the rest of Australia has enabled them to, “build a wonderful legacy of service.
“Fronditha Care has a strong tradition of providing high quality, culturally appropriate residential and community service,” Mr Zafiropoulos told those in attendance adding, “…without any doubt these services are valuable and much needed in our community.
“Since our humble beginnings 35 years ago, we have grown to be a major provider in the aged services sector.”

In 35 years, Fronditha Care has – with the support of the Greek community – built four residential facilities in Melbourne and one facility in Newcastle. They are currently rebuilding their facility in Thornbury and have plans to redevelop and rebuild their very first facility in Clayton. The community services department has evolved and grown over the past 35 years enabling them to provide significant support for the elderly living at home in the community.

Mr Zafiropoulos paid special tribute to the volunteers “who have been so generous with their giving to Fronditha – their time, money but more importantly their love and care for our elderly. Without them we would not have been able to accomplish the mission set out by our founders”. He also paid tribute to the major benefactors and generous donors throughout the years stating that their financial support has enabled Fronditha to be, “established as a quality aged care provider and to grow and continue to respond to the changing needs of our community”.

Certificates of commendation were also handed out to those who made a significant contribution to the community service. Bank of Cyprus donated $5000 to Fronditha Care on the day.
