UK Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn and Greek MeRA25 leader Yanis Varoufakis have reportedly agreed to join forces and work towards a common agenda for ‘Europe and Beyond’.

The local Greek media points to sources from within the Greek anti-austerity platform that have stated that the former Greek finance minister, Corbyn and shadow chancellor John McDonnell have jointly underscored “the need for this cooperation for Europe and for a world we all deserve”.

In the 7 July Greek elections, Varoufakis’ MeRA25 was successful in gaining nine seats of the 300-membered Greek Parliament after campaigning on an anti-austerity platform.
