Russian-American businesswoman and art collector Dasha Zhukova, 38, and Greek billionaire shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, 33, are engaged after two years. They announced their engagement in a star-studded birthday party for Zhukova in New York over the weekend, which was attended by many celebrities, including David Beckham and Liv Tyler.

Zhukova already has two children from her previous marriage with Russian-Israeli billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich. Court documents were filed in New York to finalise Abrahmovich’s divorce with Zhukova in August last year in a large settlement that transferred over $92 million worth of property to Dasha. Among the assets was a four-storey Manhattan mansion.

Confirmation of Zhukova’s relationship with the Niarchos heir came to light in January when he spent New Year’s Eve in Peru with her and her friends, which include music magnate David Geffen, supermodel karlie kloss, venture capitalist Josh Kushner, jeweller Jennifer Meyer and screenwriter Erin foster among others.

At the time, Niarchos was careful to avoid being photographed in group shots published by those present but still managed to pop up on social media. A month later, another photo surfaced of the couple together at Super Bowl Sunday dinner alongside other guests.

Since then, the couple have showed up on numerous occasions but always appeared with others and were discreet. It was Vanity Fair Espana that first picked up on the relationship in August, just after Zhukova’s divorce settlement was confirmed.
