On the one-year anniversary of the deadly fire in Mati that killed 102 people, two major fires broke out in Rafina and Barnabas within a few minutes from each other.

The most dangerous front was that of Rafina, which started near Marathon Avenue and Rododafnis Street, however firefighters were able to bring it under control.

There were 47 firefighters sent to the site with 20 vehicles, while three water-dropping planes and helicopters helped crews from the air.
