NBA basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo started his preparation for the Basketball World Cup on Monday with the training camp of Greece.

The Greek Basketball Federation announced his participation, along with that of Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Antetokounmpo, Giorgos Printezis and Kostas Sloukas. The arrival of Nick Kalathis is still awaited from the United States.

Thanasis Skourtopoulos, the Greek national team’s coach, said that training will continue at OAKA stadium in Athens before the team heads to Crete for its first tournament as part of the Aegean Games from 9-11 August.

Greece will face Brazil, Montenegro and New Zealand in the Group Stage of the World Cup.

The team will be officially presented to the media on Thursday.
