52-year-old Deborah Goulopoulos has pleaded guilty to one charge of persistent sexual abuse of a child under 16.
The teenager, who was sexually abused by Mrs Goulopoulos – 30 years his senior – said the abuse started when he was 13.
In a statement, he said, “It was just the norm of what happens. I never wanted to do it, but I felt as though I had to do it.
“I knew it wasn’t right and I didn’t feel right,” he said. ”I had never had sex before this and I felt sick to the bottom of my stomach.”
The statement details how Goulopoulos gave him money, gifts, alcohol and drugs during a two and a half year period of offending. It says that she met the boy at a Box Hill skatepark where she was with her son.
“It was like she was a teenager, the way she used to act,” he said. “Deborah was always around and she was really easy to talk to.
“I could talk to her about anything. She was more of a friend than a strict parent. She didn’t have any rules. We could do what we want.”
He recalled the second or third time he stayed at her house that she “put it on me to have sex with her” before they had sex in the garage.
He told police: “We didn’t speak about anything. I was in shock. This was the first time that anything like that had happened to me.
“I didn’t know what to do. I just stood there still and didn’t move. I didn’t know what to say or do. It felt really awkward.
“It stopped because she stopped.
“I sort of didn’t believe that it had happened,” he said. “I was exhausted then after skateboarding that day and getting no sleep the night before.”
The revelation of the relationship came after the boy’s father saw him counting $1000 and he confessed to the abuse but “begged” his father not to say anything.
Four charges were struck out against Mrs Goulopoulos, who is on bail to appear in the County Court on November 27.
