Mr Michael Malakonas has been appointed as the new CEO of Fronditha Care following a competitive selection process.

The executive stood out from a strong field of candidates thanks to his experience at a CEO, CFO and COO level.

The new Fronditha Care CEO brings to the role over 29 years of finance, accounting, operations, governance and general management experience, predominantly with the financial services industry.

Mr Malakonas is a Fellow CPA, holds a CPA MBA from Deakin University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a non-executive Director of Merri Community Health Services, where he Chairs the Finance and Audit Risk Management Committee. He is also Treasurer & Secretary of FC Clifton Hill, a Division 1 State League member of Football Victoria.

The priority for the Board and the task ahead for Michael and the executive team is to build on Fronditha Care’s strengths as a premium provider of aged care services for the Greek community, while pursuing a clear vision of future growth.
Mr Malakonas will assume his duties as CEO of Fronditha Care in mid October 2019.

In the interim, Mr Jim Scantsonihas will remain as Acting CEO. The Board would like to thank Jim for his leadership and significant efforts, alongside the rest of the executive team, during a period of considerable change for Fronditha Care.
