The Neos Kosmos family is mourning for a second time in just a few months.

Following the death of Takis Gogos in May, Dora Kitinas, the mother of Neos Kosmos publisher Christopher Gogos, passed away in the early hours on Saturday, aged 76.

Dora was an outstanding member of the Greek community and died following a battle with cancer.

As the former wife of the founder of Neos Kosmos she was involved in the newspaper’s development and wrote for the newspaper for a number of years, published several novels as well as a Greek cook book.

Born on the isle of Lemnos on 15 November, 1942, she lived a full and active life and contributed greatly to the Greek community. She also loved the arts, cooking and fashion.

Dora and Takis had three children: George, Tania and Christopher. They were grandparents to Olympia, Athena, Dimitris, Antigone and Elektra.

The staff members of Neos Kosmos send our heartfelt condolences to our publisher Christopher, and his entire family.
