In a shocking burglary which took place in Trikala, central Greece on Friday night an 86-year-old woman living alone almost got raped by the two men that invaded her home.
According to the police report a 27-year-old man is in custody and being charged with robbery and attempted rape alongside his 29-year-old accomplice.
According to the woman’s account, after the the pair broke into her home, they searched the premises before the younger of the two tried to force himself on her while the other man stood guard outside the house.
Fortunately, officers of the Greek Police’s motorcycle-riding unit DIAS arrived after reports of disturbance and arrested the two men before the woman came to any harm.
The police recovered a cellphone, a wristwatch and a small and a small amount of cash that was taken from the victim.
