A flair for fashion

Anna Pappas to represent Australia in global fashion reality show

Greek Australian personal and image fashion stylist, Anna Pappas, will be representing Australia for an international Stylist Fashion Show, after being selected amongst 4000 applicants world wide. Together with finalists from England, America and Hong Kong, Anna will travel to the Philippines for three weeks, where she will take part in a fashion-based reality television show.

Anna Pappas was selected after she entered an online competition called Star Now. “This really is a dream come true, as it is a very competitive industry and I must say I am very excited about being selected out of 4000 applicants world wide for this style competition in the Philippines. It is a huge achievement and I am thrilled to have come this far. I am ready to give it all I have and really push boundaries to hopefully win first place. I feel this will create incredible exposure for my business and services,” Anna said to Neos Kosmos.

Entertaining and fashion has always been a part of Anna’s life, with her flair for fashion starting from a very young age. Performing and participating in competitions in front of large audiences further fuelled her desire for fashion, as she could never get enough of the dance costumes and competition attire. At the age of 17, Anna completed a deportment and presentation course which opened many doors to the fashion and modelling industry. She also completed an acting course at the Victorian College of the Arts and a course in TV presenting, and was studying Health Sciences.

“This equipped me with the knowledge to promote healthy body image and well being, which inspired me to combine both my passion for fashion and unique styling technique, to promote an overall healthy confident image. To have a creative eye and creative gene – I believe you are born with it,” Anna says.

When it comes to styling, that’s where Anna’s natural creative flair shines. For her, fashion is seasonal whilst style is personal. By blending fashion trends, she creates her own unique style, in order to express her individuality. “There is no greater satisfaction than seeing the confidence I inspire in the person I have styled,” Anna says to Neos Kosmos.

The Greek Australian stylist from Melbourne has been featured until now in publications such as Belle, The Sunday Age, MX, Melbourne Weekly, The Fashion Journal and many more, as both a model and stylist. This former resident of London, France and the Greek island of Mykonos draws her inspiration from her travels and international experiences. “My travelling experiences inspired my creative flair and opened my eye to other cultures and their fashion, even more so whilst living in the country.

After returning back home, I refreshed my skill and knowledge through study and now have a team of individuals that comprise my personal and image fashion styling business,” Anna said. Even though her parents are not natives of Mykonos, having travelled there many years ago, she found herself drawn back to this majestic island. “The natural beauty of the island, combined with the history and the people, really gets my creative energy flowing, which resulted in me going back to the island numerous times,” Anna says. After working as a model, Anna Pappas was already part of the fashion and beauty industry, making it easier for her to start her first business in Fitzroy: personal image consulting.

In 2011, Anna launched her personal image and fashion styling business. “Anna Pappas personal image and fashion stylist empowers, educates and inspires both females and males to look and feel their very best, physically and mentally. I have a team of five individuals who assist me with my business and client services. Services available are etiquette and deportment, professional style and image, hair styling and make-up artistry, celebrity styling and advertorial campaigns. I also interview socialites and retailers as a way to educate and entertain my followers via you tube and my own personal blog.”

Apart from being selected to represent Australia as a stylist in international fashion-based show Star Now, Anna Pappas’ other recent highlight has been blogging for Chadstone – The Fashion Capital VIP events. Star Now stylists will be judged on the most creative photo shoots, and the show will be featured on Australian television.
