Name

Tina Angelopoulos, 21.

Your greatest achievement

Becoming Social & Cultural Coordinator of NUGAS Victoria this year.

How did you get to where you are now

I was involved with NUGAS for just over a year. During this time I developed a love for being involved within the Greek community. By not giving up when challenges were thrown at me, by having friends and family who supported me and helped me achieve anything that I was striving for.

Your greatest challenge

People who no matter how well I was doing tried to bring me down. My greatest challenge was not letting others take away what I had worked for and what made me happy.

Goals for the future

To complete my Commerce degree and then do a Law degree.

Best moment of your life

The countless moments with family and friends that have created lifelong memories that I will forever treasure. From family holidays and adventures with friends, to the countless laughs I had when on ‘The Road to Greece’ a radio show that I co-hosted on Syn FM.

Person you most admire and why

My father. He has taught me that there will always be people who will doubt you but as long as you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.

One word that describes you the best

Optimistic.

If I could say anything to the Greek community…

Be proud of who you are and where you come from and get involved.

Most embarrassing Greek moment

When my yiayia played matchmaker and set me up with a guy from her church!

Favourite place to go or hang out at

Wherever my group of friends are, we make the most boring of places entertaining!

Song that I can’t get out of my head at the moment

Jordan Sparks- Battlefield.

Favourite Greek food

Yiayia’s kotosoupa.

I can’t live without…

My family, friends and music!

If I was Kevin Rudd for a day I would…

Provide free university education.
