An information session targetted at high school students is set to take place at the Greek centre on Monday night.

The event will give high school students information about the importance of studying Greek and the options that are available to them. The highlight of the night includes university students speaking about their experiences studying the Greek language and culture in a variety of ways (eg as part of a Bachelor of Arts or other degree or combined degree). They will outline the different class levels available and options for cross-institutional study as well as many other academic pathways that include Greek language studies.

Dr Stephie Nikoloudis, will talk about the structure and subjects of Greek studies at La Trobe University, whereas Dr Dimitri Gonis will give a presentation of Greek words in the English language to showcase the importance of Greek studies.

A video clip featuring MP Steve Georganas will also be featured.

The evening offers high school students the chance to ask questions and find out more about continuing their Greek language studies after high school as well as options for starting from scratch as a Beginner at University.
