George Sembelides from Greece and Koosha Kayani from Iran were the dream team at the Australian RoboCup Junior competition.

The two Year 8 students from Glen Eira College showed their passion for robotics and technology by winning first place at the Australian open. They blitzkrieged to the winning spot, beating another 40 teams in their category.

This is not the first time that the team have bulldozed to first place, having recently won the top spot at the Victorian State Competition in August.
Sembelides first got involved in robotics when aged 12, under the guidance of Glykeria Fotiadou, a teacher at the 1st High School of Komotini.

Robotics has already taken him places, and he took part in the World Robotics Olympiad of 2017-2018 as part of an Erasmus exchange program. The next stage of the competition will take the champs to the International at Bordeaux France in 2020.
