A primary school teacher from Vathi, a town on the Aegean island of Samos, will front court on Monday (local time) reports Greece’s daily Kathimerini. 

The local parents association have bought a case against the teacher whom they accuse of encouraging students to ignore the wishes of their parents regarding their views on refugees. The teacher took an opposite views to the group of parents regarding their opposition to allow refugee students from entering the school.

The teacher spoke up against racism during a lesson last year. She encouraged students to embrace refugee children and avoid ‘xenophobia’ in their lives, however parents were outraged with her encouragement of these values and have brought legal action against her.
