New and exciting educational material was launched at Alphington Grammar on Sunday for teaching and learning the Modern Greek language.

The material, conceptualised and developed by three teachers, Ourania Papageorgiou, Peristera Papageorgiou and Niki Farfara-Paschou, features 24 stories.

Created with primary school children in mind, each story is presented in a small book, accompanied by illustrations.

The material is intended to be used both by teachers in the classroom, as well as by children themselves.

The event was officially opened by La Trobe University’s Greek Studies coordinator, Dr Stephie Nikoloudis, and presented by educator Vicky Petalas.

The launch was well-attended by teachers, as well as other members of the Greek community, all of whom were impressed by the materials.
