Greek Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said the Greek government “did all that could be done,” to see the implementation of voting rights to expat Greeks from their place of residence.

Speaking to SKAI news he said that the legislation has to gain at least 200 votes in the 300-seat parliament on Wednesday, when the relevant bill will be voted through by the plenum.

Commenting on Turkey’s activities in the eastern Mediterranean and on the maritime accord signed with Libya, Mr Theodorikakos said that “Greece is ready to deal with any exigent situation in unity and with decisiveness.”

He stressed that at a time when Greece is being threatened, “the least we can do is to show Greeks are united, and also take advantage of expatriate Greeks which are a great asset for the country,” he concluded.
