St Anna’s Greek school Christmas concert was attended by 120 parishioners, Greek school teachers, parents and friends at the Hellenic Function Centre on Sunday, 1 December.

Vicki Giannopoulou, the principal of the Ethnic School of St Anna, presented the program of poems, songs and plays which delighted the audience.

AHEPA Queensland presented awards to the following recipients: Sophia Stringlogiannis (prep), Stelaki Tzanetopoulos (Year 1), Loukas Genovezos (Year 2), Angelika Genovezos (Year 3), Anastasia Dakin (Year 4), Lia Papadopoulos (Year 5), Georgiana Georghiou (Year 6 Bursary Award Winner), Chryssa Dakin (Year 7), Vasili Stergiou (Year 9), Omar Galanopuolos (Year 10) and Khalid Galanopoulos (Year 12).

Father Roman and the Principal, Vicki Giannopoulou then gave out to all the students their end of year Certificates and Encouragement awards.

James Nides, Community President and his wife Anthoulla Nides wished students every success in their future endeavours.

A presentation was also made to the Assistant to the co-ordinators, Helen Paris who has greatly assisted the Greek School each week with administrative support. Another presentation was made to Vassili Giannoulis who provided technical support at every Greek School function throughout the year.

The Ladies Auxiliary made presentations to all the teachers, Principal Vicki Giannopoulou, Effie Bachlinzanakis, Katerina Kalogeropoulos, and Mariza Tambaleopoulos and Mrs Georgia Kalas (Adult Greek Teacher). Presentations were also made to Anthoulla Nides Greek School Co-ordinator, all the Greek Dancing Teachers Sally Dakin-Cominos, Sophie Dakin, Jennifer Sakley, Vassili Giannoulis, and Klea Petridis-Alavanos. Many thanks to all the Greek School teachers and Greek Dancing Teachers for all their hard work and efforts in 2019.

And, of course, Santa Claus was also present.
