The situation in New Zealand is still unpredictable following the volcanic eruption at White Island as the tally of those injured and dead is still unknown.

Greek Australian Krystall Browitt, 21, from Melbourne is among those missing whereas Paul, her father, is in a coma and her sister Stephanie remains seriously injured with burns to her body.

Marie (nee Drakatou) Browitt, a massage therapist, was not with the rest of the family on their trip to the active volcano and had stayed behind on the ship.

The family from Craigieburn were on a 13-day cruise of towns in New Zealand aboard the Ovation of the Seas that left from Sydney on 4 December.

The Facebook account of the missing woman showed that she was a 2016 graduate of Kolbe Catholic College in Greenvale, studied veterinary nursing and worked for a well-known supermarket.

Expert workers are waiting for the conditions to be safe before travelling to the volcano as it is too unpredictable to risk the attempt.
