They may be on other sides of the world, experiencing different seasons, however both Greece and Australia will experience higher temperatures than normal this week as heat sweeps across the planet.

Australia

Parts of Australia are expected to experience temperatures that are more than 40 degrees Celsius over the next few days with the hottest areas noted in inland parts of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicts that the blast of scorching weather would see records tumble and potentially result in the hottest day on record across the country. The maximum temperature noted in Australia for a day so far has been 40.3 degrees C in January 2013. In South Australia temperatures may rise to 51C, according to predictions.
