Boca Juniors concluded its two game tour of Greece with victories in the two friendly matches it played against Greek teams.

The Argentinian giants defeated AEK 2-0 in Athens on Saturday and Aris Salonika 1-0 in Thessaloniki on Thursday.

Boca Juniors faced AEK on Saturday in front of 14 000 spectators.

Boca completely outplayed AEK in the first 20 minutes of the first half and lost a golden opportunity to take the lead in the third minute with a short just wide of the AEK goal.

However AEK gained its rhythm and started to assert itself on the field, creating two opportunities from a header by Kyrgiakou in the 23rd minute which the Boca goalkeeper cleared with his feet and a header one minute later by Scocco which just missed the goal.

Boca struck back with a series of opportunities to Ibarra, Mouche and Riquelme and Bandalio testing the AEK defence.

Boca capitalized on their domination of play when Palermo connected with a centering pass to head in a goal and put the Argentinians ahead.

The second half was a scrappy affair with both teams chopping and changing their on field formations. AEK lost Karambelas to injury in the 52nd minute.

Two minutes later Boca extended their leadf when Mouche scored following an assist by Rikelme in the 54th minutes.

The second goal saw both sides make a number of substitutions which resulted in the uninspiring football from both sides Both sides failed to create any serious opportunities to score in the final thirty minutes of the match.

On Thursday Boca Juniors faced Aris Salonika in front of a capacity crowd at the Kleanthis Vikelidis stadium in Thessaloniki.

The Greeks started strongly and came close to scoring through Bolivian midfielder Ronaldo Garcia.

Aris, who are packed with South Americans, including Sebastian Abreu, continued to dominate.

Boca came more into the game as the half progressed and almost drew level with a Nicolas Gaitan drive in the 20th minute.

The first half also saw Pochi Chavez come close with a long-range drive that struck the left postand Hugo Ibarra testing the Aris goalkeeper with a powerful drive.

After the break both teams had their chances to score, with the Greeks coming closest when a Contreras free-kick hit the woodwork. Boca picked up their work rate and began to dominate the game.

Sebastian Battaglia almost put Boca ahead in the 73rd minute but his powerful drive was spectacularly saved by Aris goalkeeper Sifakis.

One minute later Boca took a deserved lead when Battaglia connected to a Martin Palermo cross with a firm header.
