As my father said to me when he heard that Spyros Korosidis had died, we have lost a living legend within our community. A man who never sought great honours but who, by his very conduct, more than earned them.

I met him through AHEPA, where I have been involved for some years, and he was a man absolutely devoted to the Hellenic Community almost as much as he was to his own family.

No bull about his own status nor pretentiousness, unlike some others in the broader community. He was a man who had a genuine interest in who we are and who we could be, should be.

But, most sadly, his time had come to an end and the fates cut the strings of life that gave him to us.

If enough people remember his legacy and act as he would have wanted, then he will, in that sense, live on. So to all who knew him, let’s display, act on and grow that legacy.
