Victorian businesses interested in selling their products and setting up a business in Greece are being invited to a Victorian Global Seminar, titled ‘Doing Business in Greece’.

The focus is on numerous types of businesses from food and beverages to energy to tourism, pharmaceuticals, education, property and any other type of business venture.

The Victorian Government will also open applications for expressions of interest to attend the proposed trade mission to Greece in September 2020, which includes a rare opportunity to attend the Thessaloniki International Fair and participate in a tailored business matching program.

Representatives from Global Victoria will be on hand to discuss the trade mission and opportunities for businesses in Greece. A number of officials will be present as speakers, with the possibility of attendance by the Deputy Foreign Minister for Greeks Abroad Arthur Spyrou, Steve Dimopoulos MP, Greek Community of Melbourne President Bill Papastergiadis, Managing Partner of Moray & Agnew Lawyers Ioanna Gouvatsou, and many more.

“We are proud that our Community has been chosen by the Australian government to co-organise this forum on investments in Greece,” Mr Papastergiadis said. “This state government initiative held in collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne will contribute towards the tightening of cultural and economic relations between the two countries. They both share a rich history.”

The goal of the conference is to attract investors to Greece for the Thessaloniki International Fair and those who attend the event will benefit from the addresses made by keynote speakers.

“The Government of Victoria will have representatives to help investors in this trade mission, and there are many opportunities available,” Mr Papastergiadis said.
