Now is a good time to go on an extended  wine tour and find out  what makes Greek wines  so special .

The Greek Wine Federation has set up a series of You Tube wine tours with Konstantinos Lazarakis MW (Master of Wine) as the guide to the wine regions of Greece. He will also provide information of local grape varieties and the styles of wine that the growers produce.

Through  eGREEKwine the federation, with help from the WSPC wine school of which Mr Lazarakis is the head, will be provide an online view of the Greek vineyard.

“We do hope that wine lovers will embrace our initiative and share our stories with their friends, while enjoying a glass of wine at home. Always in moderation. Enjoying responsibly has always been in the heart of the philosophy of Greek wine ,” said the president of the Greek Wine Federation, George Skouras.

Mr Lazarakis who leads the virtual tour and is the chairman of the WSPC wine school said: “Being part of this great idea initiated by the Greek Wine Federation is really exciting for our team at WSPC.

“After all, wine education is what we do for the last 16 years. eGREEKwine is a friendly, accessible online platform that builds knowledge for the fascinating Greek wine world”.

The first video in the series  was shown at the start of April and since then the videos have featured the wine growing areas of Thrace, East, Central and Western Macedonia.

The videos were produced by the WSPC and the content will be promoted through the social media channels of OENORAMA, the world’s largest Greek wine fair.
