Greek Australian Uber driver James Tsagros was travelling close to 100km/h at around 5.10pm on 21 March when a black Porsche, alleged to be the same vehicle allegedly involved in the crash that killed four police officers sped down the Eastern Freeway last month.
He told Neos Kosmos that the car swooshed past him on the left hand side, causing his car to vibrate. “It was like a Formula 1 car went by,” Mr Tsagros said.
Dashcam footage filmed by Mr Tsagros shows a vehicle speeding down the Easter Freeway, an accident waiting to happen, though it has not been confirmed if it was the same car.
“I saw the car speeding, and after I heard of the incident I saw that it looked like the same Porsche on my dashcam footage so I went to the police with my evidence,” he said.
Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constable Josh Prestney died after being hit by a truck when they allegedly pulled over the Porsche 911 for speeding on Wednesday afternoon.
The deaths of four police officers – two seniors and two new graduates – is the biggest loss of officer lives in a single incident in Victoria Police history.
The driver of the Porsche, Richard Pusey, was allegedly travelling at 140km when he was pulled over by police on Thursday morning, and he has been charged for multiple offences.
