The president of Cyprus’s House of Representatives, Demetris Syllouris, recently sent a letter thanking the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia (CCCI) and Invest Victoria for organising a business forum that he addressed during his recent visit to Australia.

The letter that was addressed to the George Georgiou, the Chief Executive Officer of CCCI, and Brad Gofman of Invest Victoria reads as follows:

I wish to express my pleasure for having had the opportunity to meet with you during my recent official visit to Australia.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to address the Business Forum that you organised, joining businesspeople from Australia, who represented a variety of sectors of the economy. Events like this signify our efforts to further promote trade and investments between Australia and Cyprus and the consequent growth of our two economies.

I do hope that the discussions and outcomes of the Forum will be transformed into practical cooperation enabling Cyprus to become a gateway to Europe and the Middle East for Australian companies and other countries of the Commonwealth, that wish to invest in Europe, given the UK’s exit from the EU. I assure you that I will support all efforts in this direction.

Thanking you again for your cooperation and warm hospitality, allow me to renew the expression of my high esteem.

Yours sincerely,

Demetris Syllouris,

President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus
