The international Dance Festival of Kalamata will be held outdoors in Kalamata, but will nonetheless keep its appointment with dance lovers from July to August. Despite some adjustments on account of COVID-19, the festival will remain true to its nature and present 21 Greek and foreign productions at the impressive Kalamata Castle Amphitheatre at the city’s main square. Some performances will also take place at another venue which will be announced soon.

The main priority of the organisers is to ensure that the festival is safe for audiences and people employed as part of the festivities.

There will be 11 foreign troupes taking part, seven of which will be performing for the first time in Greece. Local groups include 10 Greek troupes bringing dance performances of all styles, from modern to hip-hop to acrobatics and flamenco.

The foreign groups come from Belgium, Spain, France, The Czech Republic, Israel, Germany and Slovakia.
