“There is nothing harsher than for someone to lose their child. I hope nobody ever finds themselves in our position, to have to bury their child.”

With these words, well-known Greek Australian Stamatis Karabinis confirmed the death of his daughter, Katerina Karabini, who passed away unexpectedly in London.

Katerina was well-known to Neos Kosmos as she was one of the many amazing employees who have passed by our offices.

She later spread her wings and created a formidable life for herself at London where she worked in the media with many well-known international publications.

Her father told us that she had also created her own company and was enthused about all that the future would bring.

“We spoke every day and she told me how happy she was with her professional progress,” he said. “The last time we spoke she told me that she had received a 25,000 pound pay increase.”

On that night, 9 June, Katerina went to bed and died in her sleep.

“Now, I, a father aged 86 am burying my child. I hope nobody ever lives through such a nightmare,” Mr Karabinis said.
