A Xanthi Akrites player tested positive for COVID-19 after routine testing was conducted on team players on Thursday.

The test, conducted ahead of the game on Saturday, 4 July, means that Xanthi players of the team will now self isolate at a hotel in the Neos Anhialos region where the team is staying.

The players will also have to do another two tests, with the last one being on Sunday, 5 July, in order to monitor the situation and ensure that the virus is not spread.

The Xanthi team were to have played Lamia at 7.30pm Saturday (Greek time) in the 5th game of the Super League Play Out.

The Super League administration announced that the game has been postponed for Monday 7 July should all COVID-19 tests prove negative in the lead-up to that time.
