The Australian National Maritime Museum is extending to the end of the month the call for public donations for the remaining $20,000 needed for its A Mile in My Shoes immersive arts project.

The Mile in My Shoes immersive art experience was first conceived by the UK Empathy Museum and was taken up by the museum in Sydney which is the national cultural institution that is responsible for providing a permanent gallery dedicated to the national migration story.

A spokesperson for the museum said the aim of the Mile in My Shoes campaign was “to reflect up to 35 uniquely Australian migration stories, there is still more to raise and the Museum needs your support.”

The campaign to raise the remaining amount has been extended until the end of August. The exhibition is to go ahead in January, 2021.
